South Central Community would like to thank all members who attended their first new style Member Meetup at the Leonardo Hotel, Brighton.
The event was well received by the 64 members who attended (including their guests) who enjoyed some fantastic presentations from a range of presenters. We were joined by: Cheryl Lythgoe, the Society Matron from Benenden Health's Registered Office who provided a presentation on “How Healthy Are You!” including top tips on health and wellbeing. Jane Cooper, from Benenden Health's Products and Services Team who provided an overview of services included within your Benenden Health membership. Members found this very informative and enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions. The Member Engagement Team were on hand and keen to show members the benefits of accessing the Benenden Health App and how to engage with fellow members through the Online Community. Chris Cain from our third-party provider, Grace Consulting, provided an interesting overview of the care planning and social care advice service which is included within your Benenden Health membership. This included information about how the health and social care system works, the potential costs of care, along with funding advice. Claire Harley, Benenden Hospital Director of Patient Services, delivered an informative presentation about the history on Benenden Hospital and the services it provides including its self-pay services. Helen Smith, from the British Heart Foundation, provided a practical, interactive demonstration on resuscitation.
In addition, there was a gift stall, raising funds for The Rising Mercury Society. This society was established by patients in order to support patients being treated at the Benenden Hospital in Kent. A very deserving cause.
The event was well attended by South Central Community Representatives, who were on hand throughout the day and did a great job engaging with Members about their Community and their roles.
It was lovely to meet face-to-face with so many members and we hope to see you again soon.
