Member Meetup Update... East Anglia Community would like to thank all members who attended their first new style Member Meetup at The King's Centre, Norwich. The event was well received by the 64 members who attended (including their guests) who enjoyed some fantastic presentations from a range of presenters. We were joined by: Cheryl Lythgoe, the Society Matron from Benenden Health's Registered Office who provided top tips for general heath and wellbeing, as well as answering questions from Members regarding membership and how to access services. Gary Burnham-Jones, Admiral Nurse from Dementia UK who delivered information about the effects of Dementia, the support that is available and facilitated a discussion with members addressing questions raised. Jane Walker, from Benenden Health's Products and Services Team who provided information regarding Benenden Membership, what services Members can access and how to do this. Members found this very informative and enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions. The Member Engagement Team were on hand and keen to show members the benefits of accessing the Benenden Health App and how to engage with fellow members through the Online Community. Andrew Stronach, from The Quadram Institute provided an interesting presentation on nutrition for healthy living; explaining the importance of a balanced diet and eating a variety of highly nutritious foods to promote a healthy lifestyle. Seb and Vinnie, from Norfolk Safety delivered an interactive training session on paediatric resuscitation and how to use a defibrillator. This provided members with crucial skills for dealing with such situations which may occur in everyday life. The event was well attended by East Anglia's Community Representatives, who were on hand throughout the day to engage with Members about their Community and their roles. It was lovely to meet face-to-face with so many members and we hope to see you again soon.
