| Scotland Community would like to thank all members who attended their first new style Member Meetup at the Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow. The event was well received by the 44 members (including their guests) who attended. Attendees enjoyed some fantastic presentations from a range of presenters. We were joined by: Llinos Connolly, the Clinical Sister from Benenden Health's Registered Office who provided a presentation on “How Healthy Are You!” including top tips on health and wellbeing. Jane Walker, from Benenden Health's Products and Services Team who provided an overview of services included within your Benenden Health membership. Members found this very informative and enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions. Greg Kearns from The Brain Charity provided an interesting presentation on neuro diversity, with a particular focus on Dementia. He provided an overview of the service provided by The Brain Charity and how support can be accessed. David Nugent from our third party provider Grace Consulting David provided an interesting overview of the care planning and social care advice service which is included within your Benenden Health membership. This included information about how the health and social care system works, the potential costs of care, along with funding advice. Deryck Mcilwraith – Bowel Cancer UK and Ellis Reddick - Cancer Support Scotland Deryck delivered a presentation on the early signs and symptoms of Bowel Cancer and an overview of how Bowel Cancer UK can support. He was supported by Ellis Reddick from Cancer Support Scotland who provided information about how her organisation can provide support for those afflicted with cancer and for their loved ones too. The Member Engagement Team were on hand and keen to speak with members. The event was well attended by Scotland Community Representatives, who were on hand throughout the day and did a great job engaging with Members about their Community and their roles. It was lovely to meet face-to-face with so many members and we hope to see you again soon. |
