Have you had any fun things planned in this week with the children, or grand-children? It can be tricky sometimes keeping them entertained when you likely still have to work, so here are some simple, fun ideas for families and grandparents alike:
- Get outdoors: wrap up warm and head outside for a walk or nature trail. What a great time of year this is for this kind of activity. I love to get out with my family and see the trees changing, looking for conkers and acorns.
- Host a family pumpkin competition: Everyone - kids, parents. Grandparents - can join in with their own carved and decorated pumpkins. What would make a good prize for the winner?
- Bake together: Halloween treats like apple and cinnamon muffins, crumbles and pies are easy ways to spend time together - my two love baking with their grandparents and even my eldest has made a chocolate cookie pie this week.
- Story night: Light some candles, get some fairy lights lit up, and read some spooky stories together - not too scary if just before bed!
- Spooky film night: grab some blankets on the sofa and watch a seasonally spooky film as the nights draw in...
